Ready Attention Go App
Designing a digital therapeutic app that transforms attention deficit assessments into a fun, engaging user experience for children.
Client:
TALi Health
My Role:
Creative Director
Product Designer
UX/UI Lead

Our challenge
TALi Digital, a digital health company dedicated to strengthening children’s attention globally, approached me to lead the development of an app that would make attention deficit assessments less stressful and more engaging for kids.
Key goals
Transform the assessment process.
Design an intuitive, and inclusive user experience for all children, including those who are neurodivergent or visually impaired.
Maintain the integrity of the scientific assessment while designing an experience that keeps kids motivated and relaxed.
Design for a broad audience, ensuring the app meets the needs of neurodiverse and neurotypical children, as well as parents and clinicians seeking reliable results.
Prioritise accessibility with thoughtful design choices and user-friendly interactions.
My role
As the Lead Designer on the project, I led a cross-functional team of engineers, UX/UI designers, animators, and sound engineers, managing and overseeing their work to make sure everything stayed aligned to the overall vision. I took a very hands-on approach, driving the project from start to finish, making sure it not only served the users’ needs but also met key business goals. My role involved a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Developing the design strategy and vision for the app.
Conducting user research on neurodiverse kids and the science of attention deficits.
Leading UX research, including journey mapping, information architecture and prototyping.
Producing wireframes, storyboards, concept sketches, finished art, design, and animations.
Presenting to senior stakeholders and leading showcases.
Results
We successfully delivered an intuitive, engaging tool that reduced stress for children.
There was a substantial uplift in child engagement, validating our UX/UI decisions.
Winner - Red Dot Design Award.
Best Classroom/Behaviour Management App - TechEdvocate Awards (USA).
Clinicians and parents were able to track attention deficits more easily without overwhelming children.
By making assessments more fun and engaging, we transformed a stressful task into a positive experience, resulting in higher compliance and happier kids.

Game design
Working closely with the chief scientist, we aimed to make these attention challenges fun and engaging for all children.
To enhance the experience, we sprinkled in moments of humour and surprise, ensuring the app remained fresh and enjoyable throughout.

Seek – Players need to quickly find and shoo away all the smelly flies from the crocodile’s mouth, but they must leave the helpful bugs that clean its teeth.
Focus – A visual sorting game where players must trim only the animals that need haircuts, while avoiding the ones that don’t.
Monitor – A multi-tasking game, where players have to use the Song-snail to lure out the raccoon and make sure it gets its dinner.
Speed – Wait for the Wombabbits to pop out of their burrows, then feed them a quick snack.
Trail-making – Players need to help the Nurse-bug inspect the chickens by drawing a path from youngest to oldest.
Scan – Players need to spot sick creatures in a crowded scene before they spread germs.
Character design
A variety of characters were created for the world of Ready Attention Go, including the narrator, Amity, the player characters, Talis, and a host of strange and wonderful creatures.
The characters were rigged up in Spine and animated by the talented Matt White, and brought to life by our talented cast of voice actors.
